A tour with Paradise Jet Boating at Surfers Paradise Gold Coast is like experiencing the thrill of a roller coaster ride, only on water; it’s definitely loads of fun.

Paradise Jet Boating has been ranked by Trip Advisor in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 as the number one jet boat ride in Australia. They are also certified by ECO Australia and T-QUAL recognising their commitment to ECO sustainability, customer safety, quality experience and great service.

All Paradise Jet Boating tours depart from Marina Mirage at Main Beach at the Gold Coast. Tours leave every hour on the hour and you’re advised to be there at least 30 minutes before departure. They also offer a free hotel pick-up and drop-off shuttle service on their ‘Super Jeep’, a 9 seat, open air, stretch Mini Bus. There’s also free parking at the Marina if you’re travelling by car.

I booked their Broadwater Adventure tour, which travels over 35km and takes in Sovereign Island’s spectacular multi-million dollar mansions, and the stunningly beautiful scenery of the Moreton Bay Marine Park.

My tour was fully booked with the maximum capacity of passengers on board. After signing in we all assembled in the waiting area for a tour and safety briefing. We were then kitted out with life-jackets and allowed to board the boat. I took a seat up front with three other passengers and Duff, our driver.

After pulling away from Watersports Harbour’s dock, we paused briefly for a group photograph then headed out into the Broadwater, where the vessel quickly blasted into action, and headed in a northerly direction towards the Moreton Bay Marine Park.

Along the way we passed recognisable Gold Coast sites such as the palatial six star Palazzo Versace Hotel, Sea World and The Spit.

With the boat flying across the water at speeds of up to 80 kilometres per hour our driver thrilled us by periodically performing a series of fish tails, sideward slides and incredible 360 degree spins, whereby we all end up being sprayed or completely drenched in seawater. Especially those of us in the front seat!

Dolphins are often spotted frolicking in the Broadwater and the Moreton Bay Marine Park. Unfortunately we didn’t see any on our tour but this didn’t detract from the tour as our guide Duff kept us thoroughly entertained with his driving skills, commentary and ‘Dad’ jokes.

All Paradise Jet Boating vessels come with a “JETcam” onboard filming system that records all the thrills and spills along the way. As an optional extra you can take your adventure home on video to show your friends and re-live your experience!

The Paradise Jet Boating tour is 55 minutes of ‘full-on’ fun, exhilaration and adventure and I have to admit it was a lot more fun than I was anticipating.

This is Gold Coast entertainment at its best, and it’s great value for money!
